Carrie Hultberg03/03/2021The long story made short is that since my long time dentist retired years ago I have visited 4 or 5 new dentists in the city and haven't wanted to go back to any of them for one reason or another. After my first visit to Mission Terrace Dental, I knew this was the place for me. The staff have all been wonderful --- front desk support, dental assistants and hygienists. And now to the doctor --- Dr. Phyllis Chen has been wonderful. I brought in a list of concerns with questions that I wanted answered / addressed and she went through all of them with me and was very patient and very good at explaining things to me. I had a crown build-up today and it was nothing like I remember from past experiences. The dental assistants and Dr. Chen work really well together and this created an environment that was really calm, professional and efficient. I've got several things to address so will be back for many visits and I'm not dreading it at all -- in fact, I am looking forward to it. If you are looking for a new dentist I say check out Dr. Phyllis Chen - She's great!Read more

Anne Fabiny24/08/2019I have been getting my dental care here for the past four years. It’s a relatively small practice with a small staff which I really love. So I mostly know everyone and they know me. They are all highly competent, warm, friendly and professional. Dr Chen is thorough and attentive. She is very communicative and explains everything she thinks needs to be done and why. I trust her judgment and and her skills. My daughter got her dental care here for about a year and also raves about the care.Read more

There were some scheduling conflicts but they made it happen & we truly appreciate it. All in all , my child came home feeling very happy her experience with Dr. Nguyen. Ziyan C.25/04/2021I've tried several dentists in the Excelsior general area after moving here and I think I'm sticking with this one! First off, the staff is incredibly nice and patient. Always willing to take the time to answer any complicated insurance questions or accommodate my schedule in any way. Also, it turned out my insurance didn't cover the full xray that Mission Terrace wanted to give me since it was my first appointment, but they decided to waive that fee so they could give me a full exam. Their office is nicely laid out with a cute little courtyard (makes for a socially-distanced waiting area option - although I was the only patient there). Then of course is the actual appointment. I appreciated little things like when getting a million xray images taken, the technician could tell that I was uncomfortable leaving the bulky plastic piece in my mouth and told me I could take it out between shots. Their equipment seems to be pretty modern - they have this camera that's the size of a pen and could quickly use this to show me a big crack in my existing filling. Maybe this is because it was my first appointment and they needed to do a super thorough exam, but nonetheless I appreciated how much time Dr. Chen spent really looking at my bite (I have a slight crossbite that has been bothering me). She did all sorts of little tests to see where my teeth met and how my jaws align. Lastly, when I decided to fix that old filling that had started to crack, they of course had to inject novocaine into my gum to numb the area. I always hate this and find it very painful. However, somehow, with Dr. Chen, this was the LEAST painful novocaine injection I have ever had! Who knew that sticking a needle into your gum could be so... not terrible? And adding to the little things - they even offered me headphones to listen to something on my own while they were drilling into my cavity. I had my own, but I really appreciated that! Carrie H.20/04/2021I can't say enough good things about Mission Terrace dental my husband and I have been patient's of their's for several years. Dr. Chen is not only very genuine but a brilliant dentist and her team members JoJo the Hygenist and Linda are also amazing. The receptionist I think his name is Bradley is also great! I'm a very anxious patient with a long list of dental issues and I've never felt uncomfortable in their office. I've had emergency teeth pulled and lots of cleanings. They also offer Invisalign something I didn't realize! I'm definitely a high maintenance patient and they have never been anything but polite and professional! I've seen some reviews below and those that are accusing them of rudeness is simply not true.Read more
Joseph J C.14/10/2020Been a patient here for so many years now they seem like family. Seen the staff get married, have kids, the whole bit. Service is great, professional and the schedules are flexible. To combat Covid, appointments are now spaced out (physically and temporally), rooms are ventilated during appointments and sterilized after. Staff are also required to wear PPEs. The entire dental office staff, from front desk to dental hygienists to dental assistants, are all super-nice and capable. It's a great dentist office. And I always find parking close by. Rachel P.08/03/2019Although I have no fear of dentists I can be a somewhat tricky patient due to an overly sensitive gag reflex, which makes taking x-rays and other procedures more time consuming than normal. Dr. Nguyen and the rest of the staff go the extra mile to make me comfortable and to accommodate my problem. They never lose patience with me and constantly reassure me I am not being the problem child I know I am!! The reception staff are also warm, welcoming and great at their jobs.Read more
